Where this data comes from: locks, bridges and ports are curated from official publications — Rijkswaterstaat / Vaarweginformatie (NL), Port of Rotterdam VTS procedures, Port of Antwerp-Bruges VHF documentation, the CCR's Handbuch Binnenschifffahrtsfunk (Rhine/Moselle), and Kiel Canal transit guidance. Entries are marked confirmed only when sourced directly from one of these.

Official government data: Dutch lock/bunker-station/VTS-zone data is imported from Rijkswaterstaat's Fairway Information Services (public domain, CC0). German bridge names are imported from the Wasserstraßen- und Schifffahrtsverwaltung des Bundes (WSV)'s public register — © Wasserstraßen- und Schifffahrtsverwaltung des Bundes (www.wsv.de). French lights, buoys/beacons and wrecks (mainland and overseas territories) are imported from the Service Hydrographique et Océanographique de la Marine (SHOM)'s official ENC data, under Etalab's Licence Ouverte — © SHOM. Spanish lights (mainland and the Canary Islands) are imported from the Instituto Hidrográfico de la Marina (IHM)'s official register — © Instituto Hidrográfico de la Marina. Route line accuracy: the drawn route follows the real charted waterway network — official Inland ENC chart data for the Rhine/Danube basin, OpenStreetMap-derived linework elsewhere — not a straight or hand-approximated line between waypoints. Toggle the "Routable waterway network" layer (Menu → Map Layers) to see the full network it's planning over, e.g. the Rhine drawn as a line through its own center.
Coverage: a sample corridor (Benelux–Rhine, Kiel Canal, a handful of major ports) — not exhaustive. Community reports fill gaps between updates.
Wind: the current-wind badge (top-right of the map) shows live wind speed, gusts and direction from Open-Meteo's forecast model (~11km resolution, updated hourly) — a helm readout, not a substitute for an official marine forecast before heading offshore. Weather data by Open-Meteo.com (CC BY 4.0).
